Donald Fong

Donald David Fong was born in Concord, California on May 13, 1953. The first born of four to the parents of Gilbert and Helen Fong. He attended Diablo Valley High school, where he was Valedictorian of his class in 1971. Short after, he was accepted into the University of California, Berkeley with a Regent Scholarship. Don commuted to school from Concord to Berkeley, and worked at the United States Post Office. After 2 years, Don found an amazing opportunity for engineering at the University of Pacific in Stockton. Soon after, he transferred schoosl to get his degree in Electrical Engineering. Soon after he took on positions working for the government and eventually settling with work in the private industry.

Interest in Photography

He became interested in photography right after college, when he saw his Uncle Ben Tong shooting photography. Since then, he expanded his knowledge learning under experts in the field such as Don Berryessa. His interest quickly developed into more than a hobby, but a carrer. Eventually he found his passion, and worked with portrait sittings and weddings. Over his lifetime, he has done thousands of portraits and over one hundred weddings. An important development to his career in photography was the shift from film to digital. No longer did one have to carefully preserve film; now a single pose could easily have more photos than a roll of film.

Photography as of Today

Today Don resides in Los Gatos, CA. He's expanded his expertise to not only be portraits or weddings, but social events, church, sports and family events. Although pictures are now done on a special request, he keeps an eye out for opportunities to share his expertise.

Sharon Fong

Don has been married for 38 wonderful years to Sharon. She has been a constant support and loving wife and mother to her three children. Many times Don jokes about the first time they met, and he had asked Sharon for her phone number. She said she would think about.

The Family

A loving family that puts God first. That is all Don wants for his family. He is happy that he gets to see his children grown up with their significant others, and enjoy time with his grandson Cameron.

Children

Brandon, Brianne and Brenton follow in their fathers footsteps. Highly involved in church, into photography and technology, and finding family time together. Don often says that he is very proud of where his children are today; loving and caring from day one.
